Locations are the physical places in a site where products and substances are handled or stored. Each site's locations are organized in a "tree" structure, in which one or more top-level locations contain any number of smaller "sub-locations," each of which can contain its own sub-locations, and so on. A location tree can contain any number of sub-location levels, allowing you to make the tree as simple or as detailed as necessary.
Defining and maintaining a site's location tree enables the site's users to record the locations where products are found. This, in turn, enables users to search by location, to generate reports focused on the products at specific locations, and more.
Note: If your Comply Plus system is hosted by Sphera, certain changes to a site's location tree—locations being created, renamed, moved, or deleted—must be communicated to Sphera in order to maintain data consistency and integrity.
To view a site's location tree:
Starting at the Application Administration page (How do I get there?), do the following:
1. In the menu on the left, under DATA, click Locations.
The administrative Locations page opens, showing the site's locations in a "tree" structure.
2. Optional: Do one or both of the following:
● To open a location's sub-locations: Click the location's expand (
) icon.
● To include inactive locations in the tree display: Select Show Inactive Locations in the upper right.
