Performing a Transaction Search

Note: This feature requires at least one of the following modules licensed at your site:

        Chemical Inventory

        Form R Regulatory Reporting

        Tier II Regulatory Reporting

Perform a transaction search to find specific transactions in your site's history of inventory activity. The Transaction Search Center provides the search fields/options listed below, allowing you to focus your search on specific products, dates, locations, and more. Scroll past this list for the step-by-step procedure on performing a transaction search.

        Product Name: Enter any full or partial product name to search for transactions of products whose names match or contain your entry.

        Description: Enter any full or partial transaction description to search for transactions whose descriptions match or contain your entry.

        Date: Select an operator and enter a date to search for transactions that occurred on dates obeying this criterion.

        Quantity: Select an operator and enter a numeric quantity to search for transactions whose quantities obey this criterion (in numeric value only; units of measure are not taken into account).

        Transactor: Enter any full or partial name of a user to search for transactions entered by that user.

To select a name from a user index, click the Transactor field label.

        Import Signature: Enter any full or partial import signature to search for transactions from a specific import. For details on importing transactions, see Inventory Integration.

To select a signature from an index of existing import signatures, click this field's Browse (...) button.

        Transaction Type: Select a transaction type to search for transactions of that type.

        Attribute(s): Select one or more transaction attributes to search for transactions with those attributes. (To select multiple attributes, Ctrl+click, Shift+click, or click-and-drag.)

        Location: To search for transactions that occurred at a certain location, click this select () icon to open your site's location tree and select the desired location.

        Match ALL/ANY supplied criteria: When you enter multiple search criteria in the fields listed above, select one of these options:

        Match ALL supplied criteria: Each transaction in your search results must obey all of your criteria.

        Match ANY supplied criteria: Each transaction in your search results must obey one or more of your criteria.

        Match Criteria Exactly: To search only for transactions that match your criteria exactly (excluding transactions that contain but do not match your criteria), select this option.

        Search Options: These options let you further modify the behavior of the search:

        SDS: Search for transactions entered for SDSs.

        Part: Search for transactions entered for parts.

        Lot: Search for transactions entered for lots.

        Items Per Page: Select the default number of transactions to appear on each page of your search results.

To perform a transaction search:

Starting at the Transaction Search Center page (How do I get there?), do the following:

1.      Enter all desired criteria and search options using the fields/options displayed. (See above for details on the effect of each field/option.)

2.      Click Search at the bottom of the page.

Search results open, showing all transactions matching your criteria. Icons in the Type column indicate the type of product affected by each transaction:

3.      Organize and navigate the search results as desired:

        To show/hide each transaction's Product, Location, and Transactor: Click the Show Two-/One-Line Display icon in the lower right.

        To sort the transactions by a different data type: Click the desired column header above the transaction list.

        To change the number of transactions on each page of the search results: Select the desired number of Items Per Page above the transaction list.

        To view a different page of the search results: Above the transaction list, select a page in the page number menu or use the First/Pre[vious]/Next/Last buttons to jump to the first, previous, next, or last page of search results.

4.      Use the search results to perform the desired operation:

        To view an transaction in the search results: Click a transaction's description to open it in your main browser window, or its view () icon to open it in a new window. This opens the Transaction Home page; see The Transaction Home Page for details on this display.

        To add one or more transactions in the search results to a transaction collection: See Adding Transaction Search Results to a Collection.
