An SDS language is the language in which an SDS text is written. If your site's configuration enables multi-language SDS support (see Site Settings), you can select languages for individual SDSs (see Editing SDS Primary Information) and for whole collections of SDSs (see Selecting a Language for SDSs in a Collection) to organize SDSs by language. This enables you to focus searches and reports on SDSs written in specific languages. By defining and maintaining a comprehensive list of available SDS languages, administrators enable users to select from these locations to keep SDS data complete and current.
Note: There is no such thing as a "local" SDS language. Any SDS language you create—whether from the Corporate site or from a local site—becomes available at every site in the corporation.
To view the corporation's SDS languages:
Starting at the Application Administration page (How do I get there?), do the following:
● In the menu on the left, under DATA, click SDS Languages.
The administrative Languages page opens, showing all languages currently available in the corporation.
If you have permission to manage SDS languages, see the following topics for details:
● Creating an SDS Language: Allow users at all sites to select a new language for SDSs.
● Renaming an SDS Language: Update or correct the name of an SDS language.
● Deleting an SDS Language: Prevent users at all sites from selecting an unwanted language for SDSs.
