Creating a Request Status

Note: This feature requires the Material Request & Approval module licensed at your site.

Create a request status to enable requests to enter a new specific stage of their submission/evaluation processes. Each request status belongs to one of five established status groups—each indicating a general stage of submission or evaluation—but each individual status represents a specific type of, or variation on, that general stage. For details on the five status groups, see Administration: Request Statuses.

Request statuses created at Corporate become available for requests at all local sites using Corporate MRAP values (see Site Settings). Request statuses created at a local site become available for requests at that site only.

To create a request status:

Starting at the administrative Request Statuses page (How do I get there?), do the following:

1.      In the menu on the left, under MATERIAL REQUEST > Request Statuses, click New Status.

Fields appear for entering the new status's properties.

2.      In the Status Name field, enter the identifying name or code of the new status.

3.      In the Status Group menu, select the group to which the new status belongs.

4.      In the Comments field, enter any helpful notes or information describing the nature or details of the new status.

5.      Click Save.

The new request status is saved and added to the display. Requests can now take this status, either automatically during the submission/evaluation process or manually when you edit a request (see Editing a Request).
