Searching All Requests

Note: This feature requires the Material Request & Approval module licensed at your site.

Search all requests when you need to search the full record of existing material requests, regardless of requester. This search method offers the following search criteria. Enter any combination of these to see all requests matching your entries:

Request Number: The unique ID number of a request.

Product Name: The name of the material requested by a request.

Manufacturer: The manufacturer of the material requested by a request.

Approval Number: An identifying number for a request's approval (usually entered only for approved requests).

Request Type: The type of a request.

Request Status: The current status of a request.

Request Date: The date when a request was created.

Approval Date: The date when a request was approved (typically applies only to approved requests).

Location Filter: The location(s) selected during a request's Consumption Values, Locations, or Sites and Locations (Corporate) task. When you select one or more locations here, you can further specify:

Exact Location Matches Only: In the search results, include only requests associated (via tasks of the types mentioned above) with the selected location(s) exactly. Exclude requests associated only with the selected location's sub-locations and/or parent locations.

Exclude Parent Location Assignments: In the search results, include only requests associated with the selected location(s) exactly or with its/their sub-locations. Exclude requests associated with the selected location's parent locations only.

Note: This search method does not allow you to search requests by requester. To search for requests created by you or by another specific user, try Searching Requests by Requester.

To search all requests:

Starting at the Material Request & Approval page (How do I get there?), do the following:

1.      On the “Getting Started” MRAP page, the Search Criteria display will automatically appear on the left side of the page. On any other page in the MRAP interface, open the Search Criteria display by clicking the search tab at the left-hand side of the page.

2.      In the Search Criteria fields, enter any information of the request you seek: its Request Number, its material’s Product Name, its material’s Manufacturer, its Approval Number (i.e., the identifying number given to a request upon its final approval), its Request Type, its Request Status, its Request Date (i.e., the date when the request was created), and/or Approval Date (i.e., the date of the request’s final approval).

3.      A request becomes associated with a location when the location is selected in a Consumption Values, Locations, or Sites and Locations (Corporate) task. To focus your search on requests associated with a certain location, click the Set Location Filter button, select a location from the pop-up location tree, and click the OK button. A request will appear in your search results only if it is associated with the selected location, with a sub-location of the selected location, or with a parent location of the selected location. To make this criterion more specific, check one of the available options:

Exact Location Matches Only: This option will focus your search on requests associated with the selected location itself. Requests associated only with the selected location’s sub-locations or parent locations will be excluded.

Exclude Parent Location Assignments: This option will focus your search on requests associated with the selected location or its sub-locations. Requests associated only with the selected location’s parent locations will be excluded.

4.      Click the Search button. The Search Criteria display will close and your search results will appear, showing all requests that match your criteria. (If the desired request does not appear in the search results, click the search tab to re-open the Search Criteria display and refine your search.)

5.      Find the desired request in your search results and click its request number to view it. (Or, to clone a request—i.e., create a new request by copying a request in your search results—click the request’s Clone link. For more details on request cloning, see Cloning an Existing Request.) After you click a request number, you may re-open your search results by clicking the search tab, which will show your results in a Search Results list until you exit the MRAP interface or perform a new search. Click a request in this list to view it.
