Searching Requests by Requester

Note: This feature requires the Material Request & Approval module licensed at your site.

Search requests by requester when you need to search the requests of a specific requester. By default, this search method shows all current (of a New Request or Open status) requests created by you, but you can select a different requester, either by selecting a name from the site's contact list or by entering it manually. Identifying a requester is required by this search method; all other search criteria are optional.

This search method offers the following criteria:

Requester: The user who created a request, selected from the site's contact list. (Required if Full Name is blank; see next.)

Full Name: The full name of the user who created a request, entered manually. (Required if Requester is blank; see previous.)

Product Name: The name of the material requested by a request.

Manufacturer: The manufacturer of the material requested by a request.

Request Status: The current status of a request.

Request Date: The date when a request was created.

Note: To search for requests using a wider variety of criteria—and not necessarily requests from a specific requester—try Searching All Requests.

To search requests by requester:

Starting at the Material Request & Approval page (How do I get there?), do the following:

1.      Click the My Requests link in the upper left-hand corner.

2.      If your user account is linked to a contact in your site’s contact list (see Administration: Users) and you have created any requests that are now of Open or New Request status, search results automatically appear, showing these requests. If the request you seek is in these search results, skip to step 6; if not, click the search tab at the left-hand side of the page to open the “My Requests – Search Criteria” display and proceed to step 3. If no search results appear, the search display opens automatically.

3.      Choose the Requester whose requests you seek. (If your user account is linked to a contact, your name will be automatically selected as the Requester.) To choose a requester from your site’s contact list, click the “” button to open the list, then find and click the name of the desired requester. You may also manually enter the desired requester’s name by clicking the remove () icon to clear any selected Requester and then typing the desired requester name in the Full Name field.

4.      You may enter further criteria for the request you seek: its material’s Product Name, its material’s Manufacturer, its Request Status, and/or its Request Date (i.e. the date when the request was created).

5.      Click the Search button. The “My Requests – Search Criteria” display closes and search results show all requests that match your criteria with your chosen Requester at the top of the list. (If the desired request is not in the search results, click the search tab to re-open the search display and refine your search.)

6.      Find the desired request in your search results and click its request number to view it. (After you click a request number, you may re-open your search results by clicking the search tab, which will show your results in a Search Results list. Until you exit the MRAP interface or perform a new search, your search results will be retained here. Click a request name in this list to view it.)
