Note: This feature requires the Chemical Inventory module licensed at your site.
Add a synonym to a chemical to enable users to find that chemical using the synonym as an alternate name. If you are a Corporate user, the synonyms you add function at all sites. If you are a local site user, the synonyms you add function at your site only.
Note: Using the procedure below, you can add a synonym to a single chemical. To add synonyms to multiple chemicals simultaneously, see Adding Synonyms to Chemicals in a Collection.
To add a synonym to a chemical:
Starting at the Chemical Synonyms page (How do I get there?), do the following:
1. Enter your new synonym in the Add new Synonym field.
2. Click the Save button. Your new synonym will appear on the display.
