Deleting a Unit of Measure

Delete a unit of measure to permanently remove it from your system. Bear in mind:

If a unit of measure is currently used by any value in the system (a transaction quantity, a product's recorded density, and so on), the unit cannot be deleted.

If you delete a unit of measure used in one or more conversion factors (see Administration: Universal Conversion Factors), those conversion factors are also deleted.

Note: If a unit of measure is unwanted but cannot or should not be deleted, you can deactivate it, which makes the unit unavailable for selection throughout Comply Plus. To do this, edit the unit and remove all of its usage types except for the Obsolete type. For details, see Editing a Unit of Measure.

To delete a unit of measure:

Starting at the administrative Units of Measure page (How do I get there?), do the following:

In the Action column, click the delete () icon of the unit you want to edit.

A message asks for confirmation. If you confirm and the unit is not currently in use, the unit is deleted. Any conversion factors that include the deleted unit are also deleted (for details, see Administration: Universal Conversion Factors).
