Edit a unit of measure to change its name, its base/scientific type, and/or its usage types.
Note: If a unit of measure is unwanted but cannot or should not be deleted, you can deactivate it while editing it. To do this, remove all of its usage types except for the Obsolete type. This makes the unit unavailable for selection throughout Comply Plus.
To edit a unit of measure:
Starting at the administrative Units of Measure page (How do I get there?), do the following:
1. In the Action column, click the edit () icon of the unit you want to edit.
The unit's properties are shown in fields and menus.
2. Do any of the following:
● To change the unit's name: Enter the new name in the Unit of Measure field.
● To change the unit's base/scientific type: Select the new type in the Base Type menu. (For details on the available base/scientific types, see Administration: Units of Measure.)
● To change the unit's usage types: To add usage types, select the types in the Usage Types list on the left and click Add >>. To remove usage types, select the types in the list on the right and click << Remove. Repeat until all—and only—the desired types appear in the list on the right. (For details on the available usage types, see Administration: Units of Measure.)
3. Click Save.
The new unit is saved with your changes, which take effect in all values and conversion factors where the unit is currently used.
