Editing a DSM

Note: This feature requires both of the following modules licensed at your site:

        Chemical Inventory

        HandHeld Inventory

Edit a DSM (Data Station Manager; a representative of a workstation serving as a handheld device docking station) to do one or more of the following:

        Rename the DSM;

        Update the DSM's notes;

        Assign and/or remove handheld devices to/from the DSM.

To edit a DSM:

Starting at the administrative Data Station Manager List page (How do I get there?), do the following:

1.      In the Action column, click the edit () icon of the DSM you want to edit.

The DSM's ID and notes are shown in fields. The Currently Assigned Devices area shows all handheld devices currently assigned to be docked at this DSM.

2.      To change the DSM's ID and/or notes, do so in the DSM ID and/or Notes fields, respectively.

3.      To change the DSM's assigned devices, do one or both of the following, as appropriate:

        To assign a device to the DSM: In the device menu (which shows all devices not currently assigned to any DSM), select the desired device and click Add.

        To remove an assigned DSM: Click its remove () icon.

4.      When all desired changes are made, click Save.

Your changes to the DSM are saved. You are returned to the Data Station Manager List page.
