Creating an MRAP Task Template

Note: This feature requires the Material Request & Approval module licensed at your site.

Create an MRAP task template to define a list of tasks to be performed by requesters submitting a request or approvers evaluating a request. However, the initial creation of a template does not entail defining its list of tasks; instead, you begin by defining the template's basic properties, which include:

Template Name: The template's identifying name or code.

Template Use: The setting determining whether the template is a requester template or an approver template. (For full details on each, see Administration: MRAP Task Templates.)

Description: A helpful description of the template's intent or other details.

Instructions: The instructions shown above the task list when the template becomes the task list for a request. When an approver template has no defined instructions, it uses the "New Approval Instructions" defined for the site (see Site Settings)

After the new template is created using the procedure below, you can build its task list (see Editing an MRAP Task Template's Tasks).

MRAP task templates created at Corporate become available for requests at all local sites using Corporate MRAP values (see Site Settings). Templates created at a local site become available for requests at that site only.

To create an MRAP task template:

Starting at the administrative Templates page (How do I get there?), do the following:

1.      In the menu on the left, under MATERIAL REQUEST > Templates, click New Template.

Fields appear for entering the new template's properties.

2.      Enter the desired properties for the new request type; see above for details on each property.

3.      When all desired properties are entered, click Save.

The new task template is saved. You are returned to the administrative Templates page, which now shows the new template. To begin defining the new template's task list, see Editing an MRAP Task Template's Tasks.
