Emailing an SDS Collection

Email an SDS collection to send any of the following to one or more recipients:

        A single email containing a list of all SDSs in the collection;

        A single email containing a list of all SDSs in the collection, including their SDS files as attachments;

        One email for each SDS in the collection, including its SDS files as attachments.

These emails are sent using the Comply Plus internal email tool, and are not dependent on access to your own standard email application.

To email an SDS collection:

Starting at the SDS Collection Home page (How do I get there?), do the following:

1.      Click the E-Mail Collection icon in the collection toolbar.

2.      In the To… field, enter the e-mail address of each recipient. To select from a list of all contacts with defined e-mail addresses in your system (see Administration: Contacts), click the To… button. In the pop-up window that opens, select the desired name(s) in the Contacts list, click the >> button next to the To field, and click the OK button.

3.      If it hasn’t been entered automatically, enter your e-mail address in the From field.

4.      If you want to send a copy of this e-mail to anyone, enter the e-mail address(es) in the CC… field. (To select from a list of all contacts with defined e-mail addresses in your system—see Administration: Contacts—click the CC… button. In the pop-up window that opens, select the desired name(s) in the Contacts list, click the >> button next to the CC field, and click the OK button.)

5.      Enter a Subject for this e-mail.

6.      To send a message with the SDS collection, enter that message in the main text box.

7.      To send the collection’s SDS files as e-mail attachments, check the Attach SDS Files checkbox. (If this box is left un-checked, only one e-mail listing the common name, manufacturer, revision date, and file name of each SDS in the collection will be sent.) If only this box is checked, a separate e-mail for each SDS in the collection will be sent, with one SDS file attached to each e-mail. However, if the Attach all SDS in a Single Email box (which appears only when the Attach SDS Files box is checked) is checked as well, only a single e-mail will be sent with all of the collection’s SDS files attached.

8.      To save what you have entered in the page’s fields (To…, From, CC…, Subject, and message) as the default entries for whenever you e-mail SDS collections in future, check the Set as Default box.

9.      Click the SEND button at the bottom of the display.
