Creating Inventory Reports

Note: This feature requires the Chemical Inventory module licensed at your site.

Like reports of other types, inventory reports offer criteria and options that determine the exact data shown on the report output. However, inventory reports can offer such a variety of settings that it would be cumbersome to define these settings every time you ran the report. To avoid this problem, you can create an inventory report by choosing an inventory report type and defining the new report's settings once. These saved settings become the report's default settings whenever the report is run in future.

Create an inventory report when you want to frequently generate a report showing specific inventory data, and this data is not covered by existing inventory reports. After you create the new inventory report, it can be:

        Run manually, using its saved settings or temporarily altered settings (see Running Inventory Reports);

        Scheduled to automatically run on a regular schedule and email the output of each run to one or more recipients (see Scheduled Reports);

        Edited when its settings need to be corrected or updated (see Editing Inventory Reports);

        Deleted when it is no longer useful (see Deleting Inventory Reports).

To create an inventory report:

Starting at the Inventory Reports page (How do I get there?), do the following:

1.      Do either of the following:

        In the New Inventory Report menu in the upper right, select the new report's type and click New.

        Click the name of any existing inventory report of the same type as the new report you want to create. When the existing report's settings open, click New in the upper right.

The settings of the new report open, showing all settings available for an inventory report of the selected type.

2.      Enter all desired settings for the new report. For details on each setting, find it in the topic corresponding to the Report Type shown in the upper left:

        Inventory Report Type: Aggregate Chemical

        Inventory Report Type: Aggregate Hazard

        Inventory Report Type: Aggregate Product

        Inventory Report Type: Breach of Threshold

        Inventory Report Type: Building Occupancy

Note: When entering settings, be thorough. With the exception of the Date Range in the upper right, every item shown on this display will be saved with the entry/setting you give it.

3.      Click Save in the upper right.

The new inventory report is saved and is now available in the appropriate type section of the Inventory Reports page.
