Note: This feature requires the Chemical Inventory module licensed at your site.
A collection is a selected set of items (in this case, chemicals) gathered for any reason: convenient reference to chemicals you frequently use, performing batch data operations that alter the data of all chemicals in the collection simultaneously, and so on. Perform the procedure below to add a single chemical to a collection.

To add a chemical to a collection:
Starting at the Chemical Home page (How do I get there?), do the following:
1. Click the Add to Collection icon on the chemical toolbar.
2. To add the chemical to an existing collection, choose the desired collection in the pick list provided. To add the chemical to a new collection (which will be your only option if you don’t have access to any existing collections), enter the new collection’s name in the appropriate field.
3. Click the OK button. You will automatically be taken to the chosen collection’s Home page.
