An SDS attachment is a file attached to an SDS to provide supplementary data without altering the SDS text. Any single SDS can have any number of attachments. These fall into two types:
● General Attachments are selected from a list of pre-defined attachments, and are easily added to multiple SDSs. The list of available general attachments is defined by administrators; for details, see Administration: Attachments.
● Product Attachments are defined specifically for a single SDS. To define a product attachment, you either specify a path to the file's location or upload the file into your Comply Plus system. You can also enter a date (such as the date when the attachment was published or when it was added to the SDS) and additional comments, if desired.
SDS attachments of either type can be added by both Corporate users and local site users. When a Corporate user adds an attachment to an SDS, the attachment is visible to users viewing that SDS from any site. When a local site user adds an attachment to an SDS, the attachment is visible only to users viewing that SDS from that same site.
To view an SDS's attachments:
Starting at the SDS Home page (How do I get there?), do the following:
1. Under Additional Details, click Attachments.
The Attachments page opens, showing the SDS's current attachments divided into General Attachments and Product Attachments.
Note: If you are logged in at the local site level, any attachment appearing in blue boldface was added to this SDS by a Corporate user. Any attachment appearing in non-boldface was added at your site.
2. Find the attachment you want to view and click its view () icon.
The attachment opens in a new window.
If you have permission to edit SDS attachments, see the following topics for details:
