Editing SDS Files

Edit an SDS file when you need to make changes to one of an SDS's files other than its primary text file. You can edit the primary text file using the procedure below, but it might be quicker to edit this file directly in Comply Plus without any downloading or uploading; see Creating/Editing an SDS's Primary Text File for details.

Follow the procedure below to make changes to an existing SDS file. To replace an SDS file with a different file, see Uploading SDS Files instead.

To edit an SDS file:

Starting at the SDS Home page (How do I get there?), do the following:

1.      Under Additional Details, click Primary Information.

The Primary Information page opens, showing the SDS's current primary information for your site.

2.      Click the Upload an SDS Image/Text file link at the top of the display.

3.      The File Management portion of the display lists all of the SDS’s text/image files. Right-click the file you wish to modify, click the Save Target As… option (or your browser’s equivalent), and save the file to a local location.

4.      Using the appropriate application (Word for a .DOC file, etc.), make your modifications to the file.

5.      Upload the modified file. For details, see Uploading SDS Files.
