Edit an SDS's hazard classifications when you need to remove and/or add to the hazard classification items shown under Additional Details on the SDS Home page. You can assign and/or un-assign any number of hazard classification items until the SDS shows only the desired items.
Some hazard classification items contain a blank (as in: Keep away from [___] ). When you assign an item containing a blank, be sure to fill in the blank with appropriate information. If an assigned item's blank is left empty, the item indicates this on the SDS Home page with a warning () icon until the blank is filled in.
Comply Plus includes many standard hazard classifications, but if the list of available hazard classifications does not contain the items you need to assign, you can create the required hazard classifications and items. You can also hide some hazard classifications from the SDS Home page, even when their items are assigned to the SDS. For details on these, see Administration: Hazard Classifications and Ratings.
Note: Using the procedure below, you can assign hazard classification items to a single SDS. To assign hazard classification items to multiple SDSs simultaneously, see Adding Hazard Classifications to SDSs in a Collection.
To edit an SDS's hazard classifications:
Starting at the SDS Hazard Classifications page (How do I get there?), do the following:
● To assign hazard classification items to the SDS: In the Available list, click any hazard classification category to expand its list of items. Select each item you want to assign to the SDS and click the assign (>>) button.
The selected classification items are assigned to the SDS and moved to the Assigned list. If any assigned item contains a blank (“[___]”), fill in that blank by clicking the item, entering text appropriate to the product in the field that appears at the bottom of the Assigned list, and clicking Save.
Note: When assigning an item from the Sphera-supplied Hazardous Not Otherwise Classified (GHS-CA) classification category, you can also select a pictogram to represent the item. When the item appears in the Assigned list, click the item, select the desired pictogram in the menu that appears below the list, and click Save.
● To remove hazard classification items from the SDS: In the Assigned list, click any hazard classification category to expand its list of assigned items. Select each item you want to remove from the SDS and click the remove (<<) button.
The selected classification items are removed from the SDS and moved to the Available list.
Note: If you are a local site user, Corporate-assigned classification items appear in blue and can be removed by a Corporate user only.
