Note: This feature requires the Chemical Inventory module licensed at your site.
An SDS's inventory limits are the quantity thresholds defined for its product's on-hand amounts and transactions. For example, a limit may specify that the product's on-hand quantity cannot drop below a certain amount, or that its total monthly usages cannot exceed a certain amount.
Inventory limits are defined by threshold lists, which define limits for products, chemical substances (and products containing them), and products/chemicals falling under certain hazard classifications. For a threshold list item to apply inventory limits to an SDS, it must be one of the following:
● A Product or SDS threshold list item that matches the SDS's common name or any of its synonyms.
● A CAS/Chemical threshold list item that:
● matches any of the SDS's ingredients in name or CAS number, and
● has a contribution amount that overlaps with the matching ingredient's contribution amount (if both contributions are defined).
● A Hazard Classification threshold list item whose hazard classification is assigned to the SDS.

Note: When you view an SDS's inventory limits, you are shown the limits that apply to the SDS's product. You are not shown whether the product's inventory quantities or activities have breached these limits. For this information, create and run a Breach of Threshold inventory report; see Inventory Reports for details.
To view an SDS's inventory limits:
Starting at the SDS Home page (How do I get there?), do the following:
1. Under Additional Details, click Inventory Limits.
The Inventory Limits page opens, showing:
● The name of each threshold list with items that apply to the SDS.
● Below each threshold list name, its items that apply to the SDS.
● For each list item:
● The criterion matching the list item to the SDS;
● A location, if the item applies only at a certain location;
● The inventory limits the item defines for the SDS's product.
2. When you are done viewing the inventory limits, click Done to return to the SDS's Home page.
