Listed below are all Comply Plus standard secondary label types and the fields offered by each. Each label type can have any number of label formats designed specifically for your company's needs; each label format determines which of a label type’s fields are included on the label, how that data is arranged on the label, and the label’s size.
Note: In your Comply Plus system, you may not see all label types listed here. Only those label types used by your company are available.
● The Australia label type offers the following fields:
● Label-Specific Data: The product’s name and manufacturer information. Enter the product’s name in the Product Name field or, to use the SDS’s common name as the product name, select Use SDS Product Name. By default, the Mfr/Supplier Contact field shows the manufacturer/supplier contact chosen on the SDS's Primary Information page (a Manufacturer/Supplier-type contact—see Administration: Contacts—that represents the SDS's manufacturer); click this field label to select a different contact that represents this SDS's manufacturer.
● Primary Information: The product’s UN Number and Shelf Life, automatically drawn from the SDS’s Primary Information page. Click the Edit link to view or edit the data indexed on that page.
● Ingredients: The product’s chemical ingredients, automatically drawn from the SDS’s Ingredients page. You can re-order them before printing using the arrow (/
) icons (for example, to move the most hazardous ingredients to the top of the list). Click the Edit link to view or edit the data indexed on the SDS’s Ingredients page.
● Synonyms: The product’s synonyms, automatically drawn from the SDS’s Synonyms page. (Corporate-defined synonyms appear in blue; locally-defined synonyms appear in black.) Click the Edit link to view or edit these synonyms.
● Hazard Classifications: Various hazard classifications and phrases. If any items of the “Australian Dangerous Goods” classification are indexed on the SDS’s Hazard Classifications page, use the Dangerous Goods Class pick list to select one. You may also select one Subsidiary Risk classification and one Signal Word. If any items of the “Risk Phrases” and/or “Safety Phrases” classifications are indexed on the SDS’s Hazard Classifications page, they appear in the R-Phrases and S-Phrases lists (respectively); select up to four of each. Click the Edit link to view or edit the SDS’s indexed hazard classifications.
● Label-Specific Text: Three fields for material handling instructions: Directions for Use, Emergency Procedures, and First Aid Procedures. To enter data in a field, click its tab and A) enter the appropriate data, or B) copy data from the SDS text by selecting the desired text in the Original SDS field and clicking the Copy selected SDS text link. Each field can contain up to 312 characters; see the Characters Remaining indicator in the upper right of this section to see how many more characters will fit in a field.

● The GHS label type offers the following fields:
● Label-Specific Data: The Product Name defaults to the SDS common name, but you can enter a different product name to appear on the label. In the Signal Word menu, select the GHS signal word appropriate to this product's hazards. The Mfr/Supplier Contact defaults to the contact selected on the SDS's Primary Information page; to select a different contact from this manufacturer to appear on the label, click the field label.
● Label-Specific Hazard Statements, Precautionary Statements, and Pictograms: When these options are blank, a generated GHS label printout includes all GHS Hazard Statements, GHS Precautionary Statements, and GHS Pictograms assigned on the SDS's Hazard Classifications page. To have the label include different statements and pictograms instead, select them here.
● The USA label type offers the following fields:
● Label-Specific Data: The product’s basic identifying and cautionary data. Enter the product’s name in the Product Name field. Enter an alternate product name (such as a common synonym) in the Other Name field. If the product is known to be reactive with certain substances or conditions, enter them in the Reactive With field. Choose a Signal Word appropriate to the product's degree of hazard. In the Store Above / Store Below fields, enter the lower and upper limits (respectively) of the product’s storage temperature range; don’t enter F or C after these temperature values, as the label automatically uses the Default Temperature Unit of Measure chosen for your site (see Administration: Sites). By default, the Mfr/Supplier Contact field shows the manufacturer/supplier contact chosen on the SDS's Primary Information page (a Manufacturer/Supplier-type contact—see Administration: Contacts—that represents the SDS's manufacturer); click this field label to select a different contact representing this SDS's manufacturer.
● Printed Hazard Ratings: The NFPA and HMIS hazard ratings from the SDS’s Hazard Ratings page. You may change the ratings in these fields before printing, but you cannot save these changes to the label; when you exit the USA label display, the label reverts back to the indexed ratings. To make permanent changes to the SDS’s indexed hazard ratings, click the Edit link and enter your changes on the SDS’s Hazard Ratings page.
● Label-Specific Hazards, Target Organs, and Pictograms: Select Hazards, Target Organs, and Pictograms as appropriate for this product. (But remember: Any label format may only contain a finite number of hazards, target organs, and pictograms, depending on its size and design.)
● Label-Specific Text: In this section’s Additional Notes field, enter any additional text you want to appear on a label. To copy text from the SDS’s text, select the desired text in the Original SDS field and click the Copy selected SDS text link.
