Editing Chemical Hazard Ratings

Note: This feature requires the Chemical Inventory module licensed at your site.

Edit a chemical's hazard ratings when you need to enter or change the NFPA, HMIS, and/or HMIS III ratings shown in the pictograms on the Chemical Home page. Most of these ratings are single-character codes indicating a specific hazard, a degree of hazard, or required protective equipment. Consult each pictogram's official documentation for the exact meaning of each rating and code.

After you enter and save a chemical's new hazard ratings, they appear on the Chemical Home page, unless an administrator has hidden one or more hazard rating pictograms from this page. For details, see Hiding/Showing Hazard Ratings.

To edit a chemical's hazard ratings:

Starting at the Chemical Hazard Ratings page (How do I get there?), do the following:

1.      Do your editing in the various hazard rating fields.

2.      Click the Save button to save your changes. Click the Done button to return to the chemical’s Home page.
