Adding a Lot to a Collection

Note: This feature requires the Chemical Inventory module licensed at your site.

A collection is a selected set of items (in this case, lots) gathered for any reason: convenient reference to lots you frequently use, running reports focused only on specific lots, performing batch data operations that alter the data of all lots in the collection simultaneously, and so on. Perform the procedure below to add a single lot to a collection.

To add a lot to a collection:

Starting at the Lot Home page (How do I get there?), do the following:

1.      Click the Add to Collection icon on the lot toolbar.

2.      To add the lot to an existing collection, choose that collection in the pick list. To place the lot in a new collection, type the name of your new collection in the field provided and choose its Access Level. (A Private collection will be visible to you alone. A Site collection will be visible to all users at your site.)

3.      Click the OK button.
