User-defined data is entered to record information not included by the standard fields in Comply Plus. When you need to enter data for an SDS, but this data isn't covered in Primary Information, Ingredients, and so on, you can enter it as user-defined data.
User-defined data is entered in a user-defined record, which is a set of fields defined by an administrator. When you enter user-defined data for an SDS, you fill in the fields of a user-defined record of the SDS type, which covers data relating to an SDS or its product. A user-defined record can be filled in one or more times for any SDS.
Before adding user-defined data to an SDS, be sure an SDS-type user-defined record appropriate to this data has been created in your system; for details, see Administration: User-Defined Records.
Note: Do not confuse the SDS user-defined record type with either of the following:
● The SDS at Location user-defined record type, which covers data relating to an SDS's relationship to an assigned location; see SDS Location Assignments/Exclusions for details.
● The Ingredient user-defined record type, which covers data relating to a chemical ingredient in an SDS's product; see SDS Ingredients for details.
To view an SDS's user-defined data:
Starting at the SDS Home page (How do I get there?), do the following:
1. Under Additional Details, click User-Defined.
The SDS User-Defined Records page opens, showing all user-defined records that have been filled in for this SDS. Any record showing a Corporate () icon is a Corporate-level user-defined record visible to users viewing this SDS at any site (though the record may have been filled in for this SDS by a local site user).
2. To view the data entered in a record for this SDS, click the record's expand () icon.
The record shows its entries for this SDS.
Note: Any user-defined record can be filled in multiple times for a single SDS. The Created column shows when each set of values was entered for this SDS.
If you have permission to edit SDS user-defined data, see the following topics for details:
