Delete a hazard classification to permanently remove it from your system. You can delete a hazard classification only when none of its items are assigned to any products or chemicals; any such assignments must be removed before the classification can be deleted.
If current assignments of a hazard classification's items cannot or should not be removed, instead of deleting the classification, you can edit it and set one or both of the following options to limit the visibility of the classification:
● Hide from Home Page: Remove the classification's items from the Home page of any product or chemical where they are assigned.
● Hide from Picker: Prevent future assignments of the classification's items to any product or chemical.
For details on these properties and editing hazard classifications, see Editing a Hazard Classification's Properties.
To delete a hazard classification:
Starting at the administrative Hazard Classifications page (How do I get there?), do the following:
1. Find the hazard classification you want to delete. If the desired classification currently has either of the "Hide" options selected, you must select Show Hidden Classifications in the lower left to include this classification on the display.
Note: The icon(s) shown in the Action column indicate whether you can delete a classification:
● - Shown by a Corporate classification when viewed by a local site user. Only a Corporate user can delete this classification.
●
- Shown by a classification created at your site. You can delete this classification.
2. In the Action column, click the delete () name of the classification you want to delete.
A message asks for confirmation. If you confirm and the classification's items have no current assignments, the classification is deleted.
