Sphera fonts and utilities are extra tools that supplement and support a number of Comply Plus features. Depending on the operations performed at a workstation, one or more of these tools might need to be downloaded and installed there:
● Crystal Reports Viewer Application: The tool that enables a workstation to generate and display the following Crystal-formatted documents:
● Crystal reports (see Reports);
● SDS secondary labels (see Secondary Labeling);
● Lot labels (see Printing Lot Labels and Printing Labels for Lots in a Collection);
● Data update log (see Administration: Data Update Log).
● Crystal Reports Viewer Version Reset: This utility removes the existing Crystal Reports Viewer application installed on your workstation. This is useful when a newer version of the Viewer—one that does not support Comply Plus features—gets installed on your workstation; after you remove that version using this link, the earlier, Comply-Plus-compatible version of the Viewer is automatically re-installed the next time you generate a Crystal document in Comply Plus.
Note: Other tools that use a newer version of the Viewer are not disrupted by this reset, as they automatically update the Viewer to the newer version when you run them.
● Pictograms True-Type Font: The font that enables a workstation to display and print pictograms on SDS secondary labels (see Secondary Labeling).
● Bar-Code Font: The font that enables a workstation to display and print bar-codes on lot labels (see Printing Lot Labels and Printing Labels for Lots in a Collection).
● Data Updater: The tool that receives and uploads processed SDSs and other data delivered to your system as a "data updater package" from Sphera. The Data Updater—usually installed at only one or two workstations (as an administrator tool) where network security allows the necessary access—installs or adds these packages of data into your Comply Plus system. On certain occasions, it might also process a customized SQL script prepared by Sphera to perform a particular task.
Note: When Data Updater delivers new SDSs to your system, the exact effects at your system's sites depend on each individual site's settings. For details, see Site Settings.
● Data Extractor: A tool that extracts information from your Comply Plus system, typically used under the direction of a Sphera technician when Customer Care needs to evaluate your system's data to troubleshoot an issue. This tool requires access to the Comply Plus database, and is usually installed at only one or two administrator workstations where network security allows the necessary access.
● Data Station Manager (DSM): A tool that allows a handheld bar-code scanner to exchange data with Comply Plus. At any site using the HandHeld Inventory module, this tool must be installed at every workstation serving as a scanner docking station. It also includes the Lot Assist software, which must be installed on every handheld device serving as a scanner. For further details on this installation process, see Installing/Configuring the DSM Application.
