Viewing a collection lets you view the items it contains and is the first step to most other operations you can perform with a collection. The procedure below demonstrates how to open a collection and navigate the display of its contents.
To view a collection:
Starting at the Collections page (How do I get there?), do the following:
1. Click the tab of the type of the collection you wish to view: SDS, Part, Lot, Transaction, or Chemical. You will see a list of all collections of the chosen type (that you have permission to view).
2. Click the name of the desired collection.
The collection's Home page appears.
3. Scroll through the collection’s items. Use the Sort By menu to sort the collection by the preferred data type. If the collection spans multiple pages, navigate the pages using the page number menu or the Next and Previous buttons under Current Page. Use the Items Per Page menu to choose how many items appear on each page. Check the Show Details icon in the collection toolbar for a more detailed display. Click an item’s name/number to open its Home page.
If your site has the REACH module, a part collection shows a Show REACH icon at the far left end of its toolbar. Click this icon to add each part's REACH-related ratings to the display; these ratings indicate the citations (or lack thereof) of each part's ingredients by REACH-related chemical lists. Standard lists include a chemical name and/or CAS number and percentage threshold for various substances; each part ingredient is tested by whether it appears in the list, and if so, whether its amount within the part (example: 0.1%) breaches the listed threshold. Other REACH-related lists may be exemption lists or preregistration lists; these lists have no thresholds, and each part is tested simply by whether its ingredients appear in the list.
Click Previous Group / Next Group to browse the compliance lists. Each list column shows two symbols for each part. The right-hand symbol shows the part’s test result for this list, indicated by one of the following icons:
The part has no ingredients appearing in the list and does not present a concern.
One or more of the part's ingredients appear in the list, but their amounts are below the listed thresholds.
One or more of the part's ingredients appear in the list and their amounts breach the listed thresholds. (If an ingredient appears in the list but has no recorded amount, it is assumed to breach the threshold.)
One or more of the part's ingredients appear in the list. (Exemption lists only.)
None of the part's ingredients appear in the list. (Exemption lists only.)
One or more of the part's ingredients appear in the list. (Preregistration lists only.)
None of the part's ingredients appear in the list. (Preregistration lists only.)
The left-hand symbol shows the part's manufacturer disclosure rating for the list, which is based on documentation a manufacturer may provide to address its product regarding a specific REACH-related list. A certificate of compliance certifies that the product and its ingredients are in compliance, while a material declaration may state that one or more ingredients may present a concern. Without manufacturer documentation, the left-hand symbol remains white (): no information. If you have manufacturer documentation, click the left-hand symbol and choose an appropriate rating, which may or may not agree with the right-hand symbol. (For details, see Selecting Manufacturer Disclosure Ratings for Parts in a Collection.) After choosing a rating, attach the supporting documentation; for details, see Product Attachments.
