Creating a Scheduled Report

Create a new scheduled report to set a new report automatically running on a regular schedule. While creating the new scheduled report, you will define:

        Which Comply Plus report will be scheduled to run automatically;

        The report options and criteria determining the scope, output, and format of the report each time it runs;

        The schedule determining exactly when the report runs;

        The email options determining where the report's output is automatically emailed and when.

Note: Not every Comply Plus report can be set as a scheduled report. See step 1 below for details on identifying the reports that can be scheduled.

To create a scheduled report:

Starting at the Reports page (How do I get there?), do the following:

1.      Do either of the following:

        In the Reports menu on the left, click the type of report you want to schedule: SDS, Part, and so on. When you find the desired report, click its schedule () icon in the Attributes column.

        In the icon legend above the report list, click Scheduled Reports to open the list of all currently scheduled reports in your system. On this page, click New in the upper right to open a list of all reports that can be scheduled. In the Report Type list, select the type of the report you want to schedule. Then select the name of the desired report.

The selected report’s Search Criteria page is displayed.

2.      Enter criteria to narrow the focus of the report, just as you would when manually running this report. For details on the report's criteria and options and their effects, see the topic corresponding to the report's type:

        Part Reports

        Lot Reports

        Transaction Reports

        Inventory Report Type: Aggregate Chemical

        Inventory Report Type: Aggregate Hazard

        Inventory Report Type: Aggregate Product

        Inventory Report Type: Breach of Threshold

        Inventory Report Type: Building Occupancy

        List Matching Reports

        Tier II Reports

        Form R Reports

        System Reports

        MRAP Reports

        REACH Reports

Note: To define a date criterion as relative to the report’s current scheduled run date or last run date, click the criterion’s “” button. In the display that opens, choose whether the criterion is relative to the current Schedule date or the Last run date. Then use the Month, Day, and/or Year sections to define the criterion. The Example field reflects your selections, showing what the criterion would be if today were the schedule date or last run date. Click Apply to apply your selections.

3.      Click the Schedule Report button in the lower right (or in the upper right, if you are scheduling an inventory report). This opens the Report Scheduler.

4.      Enter the new Scheduled Report Name and Description.

5.      Under Schedule, in the Occurs area, select Daily, Weekly, or Monthly. Use the options provided by your selection to define when and how often a scheduled day will occur for this report.

6.      In the Daily frequency area, choose when the report will run on each scheduled day.

7.      In the Duration area, use the Start date field to enter when this report’s schedule will begin. If the schedule should end on a certain date, select End date and enter the ending date. If the schedule should continue indefinitely, select No end date.

8.      In the Email Options area, choose when the report’s output will be e-mailed after each scheduled run: Always, Only when output shows results, or Only when output shows no results. For each address where the output will be sent, enter the address in the Email field and click Add. To remove an added address, click its remove () icon.

9.      In the Output Options area, choose the file format in which the report’s output will be e-mailed as an attachment. Your options depend on the format of the report being scheduled (Crystal, Quick View, or Telerik).

10.  Click the Save button in the lower right-hand corner. This takes you to the Scheduled Reports page, which now shows your new scheduled report.
